Cross Training available (If you are a Radiology Technologist looking to be trained as a Mammography Technologist)
What you will do as a Mammography Technologist:
- The Mammography Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging functions as described in the staff technologist job description.
- In addition he/she will perform mammographic imaging and assume QA/QC responsibilities.
- He/she must be self-motivated use independent judgement and be able to work with minimum supervision.
- He/she must be uniquely empathetic to high stress situations.
- He/she will be expected to maintain compliance with existing policies and procedures unique to Trinity Health Breast Imaging Center including but not limited to needle localizations specimen imaging patient call backs and core biopsies.
What you will need as a Mammography Technologist:
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Associate degree in Allied Health.
- Completion of CAHEA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Licensure / Certification:
- Registered by the ARRT(R)&(M)
- Registered Mammography Technologist by ARRT or registry-eligible and must achieve Mammography-certification within six months of hire.
- Acquire 15 CEC in mammography within a three-year period.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
