The North Carolina Department of Public Safetys HBCU/MSI internship (Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Served Institutions) offers students majoring in criminal justice emergency management psychology sociology social work or other human service degree programs an opportunity to rotate through various careers and operations within the department. Areas of focus include Alcohol Law EnforcementCommunity Corrections Juvenile Justice Community Supervision (Probation & Parole) Emergency Management (Homeland Security) Victims Compensation Services State Capitol Policeand ABC Commission.
The HBCU/MSI Internship Program period is Monday August 25 2025 to Thursday October 30 2025. This position is part time (up to 29 hours per week) and the rate of pay is $15.00 per hour. The work schedule is typically Monday-Thursday.
Interns will be hired through Temporary Solutions which operates as the States temporary employment agency. As a temporary position there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position.Visitfor employment information.

Transcripts

Acurrent member of the NorthCarolinaNational Guard in good standingmust attach a NGB 23A (RPAS).
