Are you a college student or a recent graduate seeking an internship for the Fall 2025 semester If so continue reading to learn more about this excitingpart time paidopportunity with the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safetys HBCU/MSI internship (Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Minority Served Institutions) offers students majoring in criminal justice emergency management psychology sociology social work or other human service degree programs an opportunity to rotate through various careers and operations within the department. Areas of focus include Alcohol Law EnforcementCommunity Corrections Juvenile Justice Community Supervision (Probation & Parole) Emergency Management (Homeland Security) Victims Compensation Services State Capitol Policeand ABC Commission.


The HBCU/MSI Internship Program period is Monday August 25 2025 to Thursday October 30 2025. This position is part time (up to 29 hours per week) and the rate of pay is $15.00 per hour. The work schedule is typically Monday-Thursday.

Interns will be hired through Temporary Solutions which operates as the States temporary employment agency. As a temporary position there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position.Visitfor employment information.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

This internship is available to current undergraduate and graduate students pursing a degree in criminal justice law emergency management homeland security social work psychology sociology or human services-related fieldORrecent college graduates (within the last 6 months) with a degree in one of these areas.
