This role blends educational responsibilities with IT infrastructure management offering a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an individual with a strong background in both cybersecurity and IT management. This position combines the roles of a Lecturer in Cybersecurity and a Systems Manager. As a Lecturer in Cybersecurity the individual is responsible for designing and delivering engaging undergraduate courses in cybersecurity incorporating hands-on labs and simulations to provide practical experience. This includes mentoring students on cybersecurity careers and offering guidance as they navigate the field. A key aspect of this role is staying current with the latest cybersecurity trends tools and threats to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and effective which is supported by continuous professional development through training and conferences.

In the capacity of a Systems Manager the individual oversees and maintains the departments IT infrastructure encompassing hardware software and networks. This involves ensuring the security and integrity of departmental systems through the implementation and enforcement of robust security measures and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. The role also includes planning and directing system upgrades and maintenance as well as providing technical support and troubleshooting for computer system-related issues within the department. This includes managing a variety of servers Active Directory and networks with next generation firewalls.

Qualifications:

Applicants for this position should hold at least a masters degree in cybersecurity or a closely related field. Essential qualifications include a demonstrated academic and/or professional background showcasing in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles practices and technologies. Proficiency in systems administration network security and relevant software and hardware is also crucial. Furthermore candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teaching student mentorship and collaboration with colleagues. A strong commitment to undergraduate education is paramount as teaching responsibilities may encompass undergraduate courses across computer science data science information technology and cybersecurity disciplines.
