Job Description
Ohio University Regional Campuses are seeking a part-time instructor to teach in person Art courses at the undergraduate level. The exact number of Instructors needed is undetermined at this time as it is primarily dependent upon enrollments and overall student demand. When a need arises the department will select qualified candidates from this pool. Preference will be given to applicants who can teach the following in-person section: ART 1100 Seeing and Knowing the Visual Arts Course Description: Introduction to perceiving and understanding meanings and organizational systems in traditional and contemporary visual arts in context of their social and cultural backgrounds. Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to examine intellectually diverse perceptual points of view. Students will demonstrate the ability to synthesize analyze and evaluate skills developed in class. Students will develop the ability to perceive and understand meanings and organizational systems in traditional and contemporary visual arts. Position will include teaching from 3 credit hours to up to 11 credit hours per term.
Minimum Qualifications
MFA in a discipline of visual art or a Masters degree in Art and Design or closely-related field. Experience teaching students and experience using technology for teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
MA or PHD in Art History or Cultural Studies
