We currently have an opening for a Senior GIS Data Analyst
NCDIT is seeking a highly skilled Senior GIS Data Analyst to design implement and administer enterprise geospatial data systems. This role is critical in ensuring data quality security and integrity while supporting the organizations growing GIS infrastructure.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Oversee the design implementation and maintenance of enterprise geospatial data systems
- Ensure compliance with data standards security protocols and integrity best practices
- Create and refine data schemas and metadata for new projects ensuring compliance and consistency across the enterprise
- Review and optimize ETL scripts used to migrate data from legacy systems into modern GIS databases
- Guide and mentor junior staff in the Spatial Data Management Group providing technical direction and delegating tasks as needed
- Coordinate with the Database team on schema modifications data migrations and database upgrades

To qualify for this position applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
- Demonstrated experience with the ArcGIS Software Suite such as: ArcSDE and/or Enterprise GIS
- Demonstrated knowledge of enterprise relational databases such as: SQL Server Oracle or PostgreSQL
- Demonstrated ability to lead GIS projects conduct requirements gathering and collaborate with stakeholders to align geospatial solutions with business needs
- Demonstrated experience in developing and/or managing Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes ensuring efficient data integration migration and quality control
- Demonstrated experience in establishing and enforcing GIS data standards and policies to ensure consistency accuracy and compliance for edited and published spatial datasets
The following Management Preferences are not required but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
- Proficient in task management using workflow automation tools such as ServiceNow and Azure DevOps to streamline GIS operations and enhance project tracking
- Experience with FME software leveraging its capabilities for spatial data transformation ETL processes and automation workflows
- Ability to upgrade and optimize Enterprise Geodatabases ensuring seamless migrations performance improvements and versioning integrity
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development
OR
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development
OR
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
