Job Description

Job Title: Educational Technologist Teacher Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Director of Technology Services Pay Grade: Prof: 4 (24/25: $82052 - $118074)

(Commensurate with Years of Experience)

Report Date: July 3 2025 Days to Work: 215/12 Months

Primary Purpose:

Develops and implements districtwide technology-based staff development and training programs that facilitate the effective use of technology tools and resources in instructional programs. Works cooperatively with other district specialists on the integration of technology tools and resources into the district curriculum and instruction program.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelors degree

Valid Texas teaching certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications

Ability to develop and deliver technology training to adult learners

Knowledge of curriculum and technology used in instructional setting

Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills

Experience:

Three years teaching experience

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Work closely with Elementary/Secondary Executive Directors and Curriculum coordinators to integrate technology into the curriculum as well as plan trainings

Provide campus and district level staff development on technology integration including use of computer hardware and software applications; maintenance; general troubleshooting; previewing evaluating and selecting software; etc.

Provide student and parent support with district provided technology and applications.

Design individual instructional modules instructional materials and training aides.

Assess participant acquisition of skills using a variety of evaluation procedures.

Share effective technical and instructional strategies with teachers for the effective use of technology in the classroom.

Ed Technologist

Assist with detection and resolution of software application and hardware problems.

Assist with maintaining the district 1:1 initiative.

Serve as liaison to outside vendors that provide support for technology equipment and materials.

Assist principal(s) and campus committees with planning of technology training implementation of technology plans and selection of technology equipment and software.

Assist in evaluating the implementation of technology at the campus and district level.

Compile maintain and file all physical and computerized reports records and other documents required.

Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and local board policy.

Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.

Works with district Director of Community Relations as needed to maintain assigned department websites.

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent district wide travel. Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.
