About STMA Schools
We are a district that serves over6700students and employs750employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis Minnesota. Our districtconsistsof one primary school for kindergarten students three elementary schools for grades 1-4 two middle schools for grades 5-8 and one high school for grades 9-12.
Position Overview & Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and providing specialized research-based instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. Also responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives and following state mandated due process procedures and functions. Responsible for preparing lessons instructing students with a wide range of abilities assessing student learning collecting and analyzing student data to plan instruction creating an engaging and respectful classroom environment communicating with students parent and multiple stakeholders maintaining accurate records supervising students participating in school improvement initiatives and learning professionally. Start date: August 25 2025
FTE: 1.0
Contract: 186 days (plus 2 days of new teacher orientation for new-to-district teachers August 19 and 20 2025)
Special Education Assignments
Special education teachers work by district assignment and may be moved between buildings and/or programs based on student needs location of certain programs student count(s) and applicable licensure.
Salary Range:$46417-$ more information please see theCertified Master Contract 2023-2025. Salary range listed ($46417-$87434) is based on the collective bargaining agreement for the current school year and may increase with the negotiation of the 2025-2027 collective bargaining agreement.

Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in education and required teaching certificate in related area(s) of instruction as required by theState of Minnesota specific content knowledge training or job experience required before appointment and successful student teaching.Dual licensure preferred but not required.
