Job Description

Operations Supervisor

Location: New Haven CT (06513)

Type: Direct Hire / Full Time

Hours: 8:00am 4:30pm OR 3:00pm 11:00pm

About the Role:
The Operations Supervisor will be a hands-on leader responsible for supporting daily production activities across shifts in a fast-paced commercial bakery. Reporting to the COO this role will oversee frontline staff enforce safety and quality standards manage materials and schedules and help drive improvements in efficiency and consistency. This is a critical position that directly impacts output team performance and product integrity. Candidates must bring strong bakery experience a sharp operational mindset and the ability to lead by example.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary range of $70000 - $80000 depending on experience with quarterly performance bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily bakery operations and support the production manager in meeting output and quality benchmarks
  • Maintain equipment readiness and assist with preventive maintenance planning
  • Monitor inventory of raw materials and finished goods; work with vendors to ensure supply continuity
  • Support scheduling payroll tracking and labor allocation for operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with area leads to document SOPs and deliver hands-on training across departments
  • Enforce compliance with food safety standards health codes and OSHA regulations

Qualifications:

  • 35 years of bakery production or food manufacturing experience with 2 years in a supervisory capacity is required
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial baking equipment techniques and safety protocols
  • Familiarity with cost control inventory systems and compliance frameworks (e.g. OSHA FDA)
