Mammography Technologist Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality mammography examinations ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process. This role requires a thorough understanding of breast anatomy and physiology as well as proficiency in operating mammography equipment. The Mammography Technologist will work collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Perform mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols and standards.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures addressing any concerns or questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
- Operate and maintain mammography equipment ensuring it is functioning correctly.
- Collaborate with radiologists to discuss findings and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols at all times.
- Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay updated on advancements in mammography technology and techniques.
Requirements
- Mammography Cert with ARRT required.
- NYSDOH Rad Tech license required.
- One year of Mammography Tech experience is required.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
