Job Summary:
Join our team as an Underwriter where you will utilize your advanced knowledge and professional expertise to apply company policies and procedures effectively resolving issues in a resourceful manner. This role requires general industry knowledge to evaluate risks in line with carrier company models and underwriting guidelines. Youll support our sales team by providing insights into application processes and potential acceptance rates. Your tasks will include analyzing account-specific characteristics assessing potential loss from claims and making decisions on pricing and risk acceptance within your limits. Youll ensure all actions adhere to established protocols seeking necessary approvals when .
Responsibilities:
Receive communication (phone electronic written) answering questions handling requests binding coverage and resolving problems in a prompt manner.
Knowledge of policy detail and interface for all processing.
Process requests on our management system and send or transmit requests direct to the carrier and review upon receiving the download.
Quoting new / renew business and changes in coverage as directed.
Analyze and process renewals and remarket the account if necessary.
Be familiar with and follow agency guidelines.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is demonstrating strong computer literacy.
Strong Organizational skills
Highly Motivated and Efficient
Education/Experience:
1-2 years experience in Insurance Underwriting.
Bachelors degree in finance Business Economics or related field or equivalent number of years experience in insurance underwriting.
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) preferred.
