POSITION SUMMARY
Provide leadership of Materials Management activities for the Bowling Green facility in support of the Parker WIN Strategy. This role develops and executes strategies within a lean enterprise environment concentrating on people organization process and information technology. As a member of the plant leadership team the Materials Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations to ensure the planning procurement and inventory control of the facility has alignment to meet demand requirements and ensure a premier customer experience.
SCOPE/SUPERVISION AND INTERACTION
Position will report to the Industrial Materials and Strategic Sourcing Manager and interacts closely with other functional leaders. The materials manager works with suppliers business units value streams Sourcing I/T and other appropriate resources to strategically plan and coordinate the flow of materials and information from customers through order fulfillment. Responsibilities include leadership of materials and production planning for the facility shipping receiving and inventory functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Promote and foster safe work environment
Functions as the plant process owner for inventory management and audits the processes to ensure policies and support of inventory goals and objectives
Leads the management of and corrective actions for late backlog
Implements a lean approach to materials management including material flow and inventory control
Supports demand forecasting and supply planning to ensure the availability of all materials and products at minimum cost
Supports the facility capacity planning/SIOP activities
Analyzes inventories develops and executes plans to balance Inventory % of Sales and optimize customer service
Establishes and implements standard re-order and delivery procedures
Analyzes customer LISC performance and leads the identification of root cause and corrective action related to on-time delivery
Employs data analysis and information technology to improve site/value stream(s) performance
Responsible for part data accuracy and the implementation of strategic MRP parameters to support customer experience
Communicates significant LISC and late backlog exposures with customer-facing functions
Creates development plans for materials management team members and ensure talent pipeline is in place for key functions
Bachelors Degree (4 Year) in Supply Chain or Operations Management Business Engineering or Other
Supply Chain Training Program such as Parker Executive Development Program preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years applicable experience in materials management supply chain or operations
Analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunities
Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
