This is an exciting new permanent part-time (0.7FTE) opportunity that allows you to contribute to professional growth clinical development and improved patient outcomes.
St Vincents Private Melbourneis a facility of St Vincents Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not for profit Catholic private hospital which operates across four sites at Fitzroy East Melbourne Kew and Werribee.
About The Role
As the Orthopaedic Education Consultant at St Vincents Private Hospitals you will play a critical leadership role in advancing clinical excellence across our four acute sites: East Melbourne Fitzroy Kew and Werribee. You will be the key educational resource for orthopaedic care responsible for designing delivering and evaluating high-quality evidence-based learning programs that empower our staff and improve patient outcomes.
In this role you will lead the development of specialised education programsincluding our Introduction to Specialty Practice Programdesigned to build advanced clinical capabilities in early-career and transitioning nurses. You will provide tailored support to orthopaedic ward staff perioperative teams and postgraduate students helping shape the next generation of orthopaedic specialists.
Your focus will extend beyond instruction to include research mentorship and quality improvement. You will collaborate across disciplines drive a culture of inquiry and embed best-practice principles into every aspect of education delivery. By aligning learning with strategic organisational goals you will also help build career pathways that support staff growth and capability within the orthopaedic specialty.
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence clinical care standards enhance workforce capability and strengthen St Vincents position as a leader in orthopaedic education and excellence.
What Youll Be Doing
Identify learning needs and develop tailored educational strategies that enhance orthopaedic nursing practice.
Deliver engaging evidence-based clinical education to postgraduate students graduates enrolled and registered nurses.
Champion excellence in multidisciplinary collaboration clinical mentoring and continuous improvement.
Drive the adoption of educational technologies and contemporary teaching methods across all four campuses.
About You The Ideal Candidate
You are a passionate educator and clinical expert with:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
Minimum 5 years of recent orthopaedic nursing experience.
Postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedic Nursing.
Demonstrated experience designing and delivering clinical education programs.
Proven ability to support a broad range of learners including ENs RNs graduates and postgraduates.
Strong digital literacy and experience with education technologies.
Flexibility to travel between East Melbourne Fitzroy Werribee and Kew campuses.
(Highly desirable) Perioperative experience within orthopaedics.
