Job Description

Job Title: PDVT Engineer
Location: San Jose CA (Onsite)
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract


Job Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on Power Electronics Lab Engineer with expertise in power analyzers board-mount power testing failure analysis and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will conduct lab testing validation and documentation ensuring high-quality performance of power electronics components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hands-on lab testing using oscilloscopes function generators electronic loads and AC/DC power sources.
  • Execute board-mount and front-end power test cases to validate designs.
  • Identify and document bugs/issues during validation and report findings to design teams.
  • Create and maintain detailed test reports with measured data and analysis.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Expertise in power electronics (AC/DC-DC/DC conversion power conversion topologies).
  • Strong understanding of board-mount and front-end power systems.
  • Proficiency in using power analyzers (oscilloscope AC/DC power source function generators electronic loads).
  • Experience in soldering components on PCB and reading schematics.
  • Comfortable working in a Unix/Linux environment.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience in failure analysis and troubleshooting in lab environments.
  • Knowledge of test planning validation and driving failures to resolution with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to document test results concisely and clearly.
  • Familiarity with scripting for automation (Python Shell).

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced work environment and eagerness to learn new concepts.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting debugging and issue resolution skills.
