13 weeks Days 8-hour shift 40 hours weekly

The Radiologic Technologist provides the prescribed radiographic and fluoroscopic exams with the selection of proper technical factors required for each exam.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Will participate and maintain a culture within the Clinic that is consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards document. To this end employees will be expected to read have familiarity with and embrace the principles contained within.
- Assesses patient status during pre-op interview and continuingly.
- Provides safe therapeutic quality care to patients by utilizing the nursing process and nursing diagnosis promptly and by setting appropriate priorities. Document interventions and patients responses.
- Ensures provision of patient care in an organized and timely manner.
- Utilizes nursing care standards when planning and implementing patient care.
- Communicates appropriate information regarding patient conditions to those who require the information including surgeons anesthesia management and other staff.
- Safely carries out the physicians orders correctly and promptly documenting all activities.
- Assists Anesthesia staff as needed.
- Displays an understanding of each patients cognitive physical emotional and chronological maturity in assessments treatment and care.
- Participates in the orientation and training of new employees.
- Maintains competencies to function in the RN role within a specific area.
- Protects sedated and anesthetized patients by identifying safety hazards such as electrical equipment and pressure points and by minimizing exposure to maintain privacy and body temperature.
- Expertise in safety principles asepsis sterile technique and universal precautions.
- Assesses anticipates and implements appropriate care throughout the surgical process.
- Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
Experience:
- An exception to the requirements stated in #1 and #2 of this section is made for students of an approved school of radiologic technology who have completed all relevant exam competencies and are in good standing in the program overall. This exemption to sections 1 and 2 will be good for no longer than 12 months.
- 5. One (1) or more years of demonstrated success in a Radiology Department with comparable complexity to that of the clinic preferred.
Education:
- A graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology required.
Licenses Certifications and/or Registration:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire required.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required.
- Must have a valid appropriate license issued by the State of Oregon Board of Medical Imaging required.
EMR System: Athena experience preferred

Knowledge and Skills:
- Thorough knowledge of human anatomy radiation exposures and positioning.
- Ability to work compatibly with physicians patients and other staff.
