Job Description
Staff Pharmacist Rotating Shifts (Full-Time)
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: Pharmacy
Schedule: 4 x 10-hour shifts/week Primarily Day Shift (7:00 AM 5:30 PM)
Total Hours/Week: 40
Shift Rotation: Includes rotations through day evening and night shifts
Licensure: Licensed Pharmacist in the State of California (unrestricted)
Experience Required: Minimum 3 years
EHR System: Epic
Automated Dispensing Cabinets: Pyxis
Athena Medtech is currently seeking a dedicated and versatile Staff Pharmacist to support our inpatient pharmacy services across rotating shifts. This full-time position offers a dynamic schedule with primary coverage on day shifts and rotational coverage across evening and night shifts. The ideal candidate is a collaborative and clinically skilled pharmacist with hospital experience and a commitment to excellence in patient care.
Work Schedule Details:-
Standard Shift: 4 days/week 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM 5:30 PM)

Rotational Coverage:

Evenings: 1:00 PM 11:30 PM

Nights: 9:00 PM 7:30 AM (7 on / 7 off)

Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend per regular scheduling

Holiday Coverage:

Night Shift: Work any holidays falling during the 7-on rotation

Day/Evening Rotations: One major (Thanksgiving Christmas New Years) and one minor (e.g. July 4th Labor Day) holiday per year

Review and validate medication orders for accuracy efficacy and safety
-
Resolve potential or actual drug-related problems proactively
-
Dispense and compound medications with precision and compliance
-
Provide timely drug information and consultation to healthcare providers and patients
-
Collaborate closely with physicians nurses and interdisciplinary teams
-
Supervise and support pharmacy technicians in medication preparation and delivery
-
Serve as a preceptor and contribute to pharmacy education and development
-
Float to other shifts or pharmacy areas as operational needs require

Current unrestricted California Pharmacist license
-
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (RPh) degree
-
Minimum of 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience
-
Strong clinical knowledge in formulary management dosing and drug interactions

Familiarity with Epic EHR and Pyxis ADC systems
-
Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication skills

Adaptable to varying shifts and departmental needs
