Job Description
Registered Nurse PACU (Recovery) Night Shift
Location: Athena Medtech
Department: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)
Schedule: 3 x 12-hour shifts/week Monday to Friday 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Start Time Options: 3:00 PM or 7:00 PM
Hours Per Week: 36
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years
Specialty Requirements: ICU and PACU (Level 1 or 2 Trauma) Pediatric PACU Inpatient PACU
Certifications: NIH Stroke Scale Certification required
Athena Medtech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced PACU Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Post Anesthesia Care Unit. This is a critical care-focused role ideal for an RN with a strong background in both ICU and PACU settings particularly in Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Centers and pediatric recovery care. The ideal candidate is calm under pressure highly collaborative and excels in managing complex post-operative cases.
Key Responsibilities:-
Implement and continually monitor individualized care plans for patients recovering from anesthesia

Observe assess and document patient conditions during the post-operative period

Act swiftly to manage complications and changes in patient status

Effectively coordinate care across multiple disciplines ensuring smooth transitions between surgical and inpatient care

Accurately carry out physician and nursing orders in a timely manner

Collaborate with the healthcare team to support discharge planning and post-anesthesia education for patients and families

Active RN license in good standing

Minimum 5 years of nursing experience with recent experience in:
-
ICU and PACU in a Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center

Pediatric PACU and Inpatient PACU environments

NIH Stroke Scale certification

Strong critical care assessment skills and ability to work in high-acuity fast-paced settings

Exceptional communication teamwork and organizational abilities
