About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting installations and repairs. This role includes preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems ensuring minimal downtime and compliance with safety and quality standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support LEAN 5S Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs
- Understand and meet customer requirements
- Identify and stop processes that fail to meet safety or quality standards
- Ensure personal and co-worker safety
- Perform electrical/mechanical preventive maintenance to minimize machine downtime
- Replace electrical/mechanical components per work order instructions
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment breakdowns quickly
- Install new electrical/mechanical equipment as directed
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs
- Keep work areas clean organized and safe
- Follow all facility safety GMP and sanitation policies
- Promote and support GPIs core values: Integrity Respect Accountability Relationships and Teamwork
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to visually distinguish colors and color shades
- Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
- Strong team collaboration and participation in group processes
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations
- Ability to lift and handle heavy machinery/equipment
- Good time-management skills and punctuality
- Fabrication and welding skills
- Ability to keep the work area clean and orderly during the shift
- Experience with preventive maintenance scheduling via CMMS
- Ability to coordinate with production purchasing and engineering teams
- Experience in processing and handling facility maintenance work orders
