Job Title: Anesthesiologist (Board Certified / Board Eligible)
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Location: Syracuse NY
Schedule: Monday Friday 7:00 AM 3:30 PM with shared on-call responsibilities (evenings weekends holidays)
We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Anesthesiologist to provide comprehensive peri-operative care and anesthesia services in a hospital setting. The role includes pre-operative evaluations intra-operative administration and post-anesthesia monitoring across a variety of surgical specialties.
Key Responsibilities:Provide direct anesthesia care including assessment administration and monitoring.
Supervise and guide CRNAs and residents; participate in training and educational activities.
Manage administrative duties including documentation of pre-op notes encounters and post-op orders.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives morbidity & mortality conferences and departmental meetings.
Provide anesthesia for a wide range of surgeries including general orthopedic thoracic vascular ENT ophthalmology and urology.
Offer support for procedures in areas such as GI/Endoscopy Interventional Radiology ICU and Cardiac Cath Lab.
Participate in shared on-call duties with availability by phone (15-minute response) and in-person (within 40 60 minutes).
Assist in emergency procedures including cardioversion and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT).
Ensure timely use of anesthesia equipment and record-keeping tools.
License: Must hold a current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S. (Any State/Territory/DC).
Board Certification: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Residency: Completion of an ACGME-accredited Anesthesiology residency.
Experience: Minimum of 3 5 years preferred.
Language Proficiency: Must speak read and write English fluently.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with modern anesthesia equipment and electronic documentation systems.
Must comply with medical staff by-laws hospital regulations and documentation standards.
On-call anesthesiologists must respond within 15 minutes by phone and be onsite within 40 60 minutes if called.
Must be available for clinical care during facility hours and maintain communication with staff and patients as required.
Responsible for supervising residents according to ACGME standards.
Provide discharge education and ensure continuity of care post-procedure.
Direct patient care responsibilities occupy approximately 90% of the role.
Work is performed in operating rooms hospital wards procedure suites and ICUs.
Estimated caseload: 10 surgical cases per day.
The role does not include overnight stay accommodations; however call-backs are infrequent.
