Job Description
Job Title: ITIL Configuration Management Specialist
Location: Austin TX (Hybrid)
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification
Required Qualifications:- Advanced knowledge of ITIL configuration management principles and best practices including experience in developing and maintaining configuration management processes and policies.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with a high attention to detail.
- Hands-on experience supporting and maintaining CMDB platforms such as BMC Helix ServiceNow Atlassian or similar tools.
- Proven ability to perform regular configuration audits to verify completeness accuracy and compliance with the Configuration Management Plan and system objectives.
- Demonstrated responsibility for verifying and auditing configuration status and assisting with configuration verification to ensure Configuration Items (CIs) are consistent with their specifications and requirements.
- Prior experience as a Configuration Manager or in a similar role overseeing IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and standards.
- Possession of an ITIL 4 Foundation certification.
- Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with integration of CMDB with other ITSM processes such as Incident Problem Change and Asset Management.
- Ability to prepare reports and dashboards for executive and operational teams based on CMDB data.
- Experience conducting stakeholder training on CMDB usage process adherence and compliance requirements.
- Design implement and manage the Configuration Management process and ensure its alignment with ITIL best practices.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the CMDB by conducting regular audits and reconciliations.
- Define and enforce governance policies for CI identification classification and status control.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure proper CI relationships and service mapping are maintained.
- Support lifecycle management of configuration data and ensure synchronization with related systems and processes.
- Monitor and report on the health performance and compliance of the CMDB and associated processes.
- Act as the subject matter expert for Configuration Management and provide guidance to project and operational teams.
- Ensure effective onboarding of new CIs and updates to existing data in alignment with the CM plan.
