Job Summary:
This position is for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in a long-term care facility in Seward Alaska. The CNA will provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) collecting patient data and performing other designated procedures. Previous travel experience is required and the candidate must be able to work a 4x12 or 3x12 variable shift schedule. Housing and a vehicle are provided.
Location: Seward Alaska United States
Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with ADLs (bathing dressing toileting ambulation feeding).
- Collect patient data (vital signs weights I&O specimens).
- Perform designated procedures (incentive spirometry pulse oximetry blood sugar checks etc.).
- Assist with patient transport and preparation for diagnostic tests.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
- Document patient care accurately.
- Answer phones and direct calls.
- Perform other clerical and technical duties as assigned.
- Float to meet facility needs within scope.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current CNA license (pending license accepted with application submission within 72 hours of contract signing).
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in long-term care.
- Previous travel experience.
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurance (rental car insurance required).

Special Considerations:
- On-call is not required.
- Shift is 4x12 or 3x12 variable (days or nights based on facility needs). No night/day rotation is expected except for occasional urgent staffing needs.
- Housing and a vehicle are provided by the facility; shared housing with another traveler.
- Pets are not allowed in housing.
- Guaranteed 60 hours per two weeks; possibility of one 12-hour shift cancellation per two weeks.
- Time off approved individually.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Candidates permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility.
Scheduling:
- 4x12 or 3x12 variable shifts (travelers choice).
- Shifts will be either days or nights depending on facility needs at the start date.
- No regular rotation between day and night shifts.
