Job Summary:
This role involves working as a Sterile Processing Technician in a Level II Trauma Center responsible for the sterilization decontamination assembly and preparation of surgical instruments and equipment. The technician will handle a high volume of cases across various surgical specialties and will be required to work rotating weekends and be on-call twice a month. Experience in various surgical settings (inpatient outpatient and trauma) is essential.

Responsibilities:
- Sterilization and decontamination of surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assembly and wrapping of instrument trays.
- Case cart preparation and management.
- High-level disinfection (HLD) procedures.
- Scrubbing and assisting in surgical procedures.
- Maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
- Managing a daily caseload of 65 surgical cases and 1200 tray volume.
- Working in a fast-paced environment within an inpatient outpatient and trauma setting.
- Handling surgical cases across diverse specialties including Ortho Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Vascular Thoracic Neuro Gyn Bariatrics Plastics Podiatry ENT Transplant Robotics and Implants. Ophthalmology experience preferred.
- On-call duties twice per month including rotating weekends.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
- CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification.
- Experience in various surgical specialties (Ortho Urology Endo/Laparoscopic Vascular Thoracic Neuro Gyn Bariatrics Plastics Podiatry ENT Transplant Robotics Implants).
- Inpatient outpatient and trauma setting experience.
- Experience with sterilization decontamination assembly/wrap case cart HLD and scrub techniques.
- Experience using SPM and Epic (Electronic Health Record) preferred.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Ophthalmology experience.
Special Considerations:
- On-call duty is required twice per month with rotating weekends.
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
- Work schedule is 5x8hr shifts (Monday-Friday) with one rotating weekend per month possibly two depending on staffing needs.
- No block scheduling is available.
- COVID-19 vaccination is required (no exemptions).
- Level II Trauma Center environment.
Scheduling:
- 5 eight-hour shifts per week Monday through Friday.
- One rotating weekend per month with the possibility of a second rotating weekend depending on staffing needs.
- On-call twice per month.
- No set block schedule case-by-case consideration possible during the contract depending on core staff availability.
