Job Summary:
This position is for a Surgical Technologist in a Level II Trauma Center with 18 rooms. The role requires providing surgical support during a variety of cardiac and general surgical procedures in a fast-paced environment. The Surgical Technologist will work 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week and will be required to be on-call. Minimum one year of experience is required and first-time surgical technicians are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare surgical instruments and equipment for various cardiac and general surgical procedures (CABG AVR AAA MVR Carotid Cutdown VATS RATS Mediastinoscopy Pericardial Windows Tamponade and Minimally invasive cardiac procedures).
- Assist the surgical team during procedures maintaining sterility and assisting with surgical tasks as directed.
- Maintain the surgical field ensuring a sterile environment.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after procedures.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Charting in EPIC system.
- Floating to the general OR may be required.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist (first-timers accepted).
- Weekend availability is required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with a variety of surgical procedures (CABG AVR AAA MVR Carotid Cutdown VATS RATS Mediastinoscopy Pericardial Windows Tamponade and Minimally invasive cardiac procedures).
Special Considerations:
- On-call is required: 1 weekday call (M-Th) a week plus 1 weekend a month (F Sat Sun) dependent on staff.
- Weekend work is required.
- Floating to the general OR may be required.
- Block scheduling is considered on a case-by-case basis.
- No pending licenses accepted.
- Limited to 2 RTO requests must be submitted in advance.
Scheduling:
- 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week (0630-1900).
- On-call requirements as noted above.
