Job Summary:
This role is for an Electrophysiology Technologist responsible for providing technical support during electrophysiology (EP) procedures in a busy two-lab setting within a short-term acute care hospital. The position requires extensive experience in EP procedures including complex procedures such as Lead Extractions and VT Ablations. The technologist will float between units as needed and will be on-call one day a week for late procedures.
Location: Missoula Montana United States
Responsibilities:
- Assisting physicians during a variety of EP procedures including Lead Extractions and VT Ablations.
- Preparing patients and equipment for procedures.
- Monitoring patients during procedures.
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment.
- Following all hospital safety and infection control protocols.
- Responding to on-call requests one day a week for late procedures.
- Floating between units as needed to meet staffing requirements.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Extensive experience in electrophysiology procedures.
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification preferred (RCIS or RCES with no ARRT acceptable).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Prior experience in a similar role in a high-volume EP lab.
Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities one day per week for late procedures.
- Variable shift schedule based on unit needs and staffing; primarily days.
- Block scheduling required.
- Patient ratios are 2 EP Technologists per patient.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment often handling complex and critical procedures.
Scheduling:
- Primarily day shifts but variable based on unit needs and staffing.
- Block scheduling.
- On-call one day per week for late procedures.
- Weekends are not required.
- 48-hour work approvals are not available.
