Job Summary:
This position is for an X-Ray Technologist at a short-term acute care teaching hospital. The technologist will perform a variety of X-ray procedures utilizing established protocols and maintaining high standards of patient care. The role requires proficiency in imaging techniques adherence to safety protocols and effective communication with patients and the healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
- Performing X-ray procedures according to established protocols.
- Preparing patients for examinations ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintaining and operating X-ray equipment.
- Adhering to radiation safety protocols and regulations.
- Processing and reviewing X-ray images for quality control.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation in the Electronic Health Record (Epic).
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current New York State Radiologic Technologist license.
- Proficiency in various X-ray imaging techniques.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Previous experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience with the Epic electronic health record system.
- Certification in advanced imaging modalities (e.g. CT MRI).
Special Considerations:
- Shift work is required with shifts varying between 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM (Monday and Tuesday) and 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM (Wednesday and Thursday).
- The work environment is a busy hospital setting.
- Scrub colors must be any combination of navy and white.
Scheduling:
- Variable shifts are required including a combination of day and evening shifts.
- Specific shift assignments will be determined by the hospitals scheduling needs.
