Job Summary:
This position is for a Phlebotomist in a 277-bed acute care hospital in Santa Rosa California. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients preparing samples for testing and maintaining accurate records. The role requires proficiency in phlebotomy techniques adherence to safety protocols and effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals. Shift times vary with 10-hour shifts and every other weekend required. Floating to sister facilities is a possibility.
Location: Santa Rosa California United States
Responsibilities:
- Collecting blood samples from patients using appropriate techniques.
- Labeling and processing blood samples for laboratory analysis.
- Maintaining accurate records of specimens collected.
- Adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
- Communicating effectively with patients and healthcare staff.
- Assisting with other clinical duties as assigned.
- Potential to float to sister facilities.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Certified Phlebotomy Technician license in California.
- BLS certification.
- CPT I certification (Active in the state of CA).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience (first-time travelers will be screened).
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with Epic and Beaker systems.
Special Considerations:
- 10-hour shifts every other weekend.
