About the role:

The Iron Technician I provides assembly and testing of various mechanical components in the oil and gas industry.

What you will do:

  • At SPM Oil & Gas our primary objective is to provide our customers with excellent engineering solutions through our products and superior customer service

  • Process incoming iron starts to finish. Able to accept equipment from delivery recertify equipment load equipment for delivery complete all associate paperwork perform quality check and manage inventory (without supervision)

  • Understand customer requirements throughout the entire refurbishment of flow control product to produce high quality product

  • Clean strip and inspect all required flow control components

  • Prepare flow control products for Gauging Ultra Sonic and MPI inspections

  • Disassemble of flow control products per Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

  • Provides proper care and maintenance of all shop tools equipment and work area

  • Exhibit and always advocate exemplary safety culture

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

What you will have:

  • Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired but not required

  • Demonstrate consistency accountability reliability and solid work ethic

  • Ability to operate hand tools such as hammers and screw drivers

  • Working knowledge of oil and gas equipment

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear

  • Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop kneel crouch or crawl

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus

  • Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions

  • Occasionally exposed to high precarious places and vibration

  • Noise Level: Moderate

Additional Information:

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
  • Work Schedule: 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This role operates on a 10-day on/4-day off cycle. For example youll work 10 consecutive days starting on Tuesday (through the following Thursday) and then have 4 days off.

Summary Pay Range:

$21.90 - $29.35
