PURPOSE
The Business Coordinator I under general supervision provides support and coordination of a variety of business activities requiring independent judgment including reviewing business documents and assisting in developing monitoring and reporting accounts and budget data as directed by supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Functional Area 1: Operations
Percent Effort: 45%
Coordinate annual fiscal year closing activities and drafts new fiscal year plans. Coordinate routine fiscal activities.
Propose solutions to routine financial problems. Communicate cash handling procedures coordinate and approve cash handling activities and implement and coordinate purchasing activities.
Coordinate inventory process and maintenance of business files
Assist in planning developing implementing coordinating and monitoring business programs or services
Functional Area 2: Administrative
Percent Effort: 45%
Review and approve vouchers and requisitions. Review and audit reconciliations of multiple unit accounts. Monitor and report on unit budget activity. Prepare monthly and annual financial reports. Provide input to policies and interpret policies and procedures
Serve as a liaison with financial payroll and/or human resources as needed. Coordinate routine personnel activities such as travel and maintenance of personnel files.
Assist with administration of contracts and grants as needed. Assist in preparing budgets for department. Develop financial and statistical analyses and summary reports. Compose correspondence. Assist with administration of unit program or project.
Functional Area 3: Other
Percent Effort: 10%
Assist with departmental compliance reviews.
Participate in the hiring and training of business staff and/or student workers and may provide supervision. Train staff on new and existing business procedures and provide policies and regulations to staff.
Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in accounting or closely related field.
Two (2) years of experience in accounting (reconciling analyzing and journal entries) budget and/or payroll.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Experience with administrative tasks and supporting multiple departments.
Knowledge of healthcare counseling or academic environments.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other office management software.
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

SALARY $43888-$53000 Annually Approximately (Salary dependent upon experience and experience.)
