Amazons Global Sourcing & Procurement team is looking for Software Engineers and Developers to build Amazons next generation of inventory planning platforms. We build scalable automated platforms that determine the economically optimal sourcing plan for millions of unique SKU sold on Amazon worldwide. This puts us at the nexus of retail business suppliers operations logistics and capacity planning. Our software is used by every country Amazon services and is a critical link to ensuring the products our customers want are available when they need them.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering software solutions to manage world-wide inventory in Amazons real-time systems by successfully partnering with fulfillment IT retail and finance teams to provide the highest possible customer selection and availability at the best possible price.

Key job responsibilities
Be very hands-on; work with the engineering team to manage the day-to-day development activities by leading architecture decisions participating in designs design reviews code reviews and able to work with a minimal technical supervision and supplemental engineering support while responding efficiently to multiple program priorities. Work with engineering teams to design and optimize a wide variety of development projects using a variety of development tools and practices. In addition the role involves developing shared components and tools analyzing the latest technologies and development trends establishing and implementing standard practices as well as training and mentoring other engineers. Experience with front-end and back-end development customer focus knowledge of experience working with databases and excellent communication skills. You must be a fast efficient coder and make coding and design decision with multiple simultaneous dimensions in mind.

SCOT Global Sourcing owns the systems that drive the import program and global distribution network for Amazon in 2021 a $10B program driving $1B in FCF with a 20% growth outlook in 2022. SCOTs ORION (Optimal Routing Inbound Network) is looking for a robust SDE-2. The team design and build systems to optimize Amazons import network and manage the flow of import inventory across our global fulfillment network. Our technologies are supplier agnostic and work together with fulfillment IT retail and operations teams to get the inventory in the fastest and cheapest way in Amazon network.
- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
