Position Responsibilities:
Apply Human Engineering knowledge and principles to the analysis design and evaluation of complex systems
Define system performance requirements to ensure safe and successful human operation of physical functional and program interfaces for all system operators
Apply human performance principles methodologies and technologies to the design of complex systems
Develop and implement research methodologies and analysis plans to test and evaluate developmental prototypes
Apply a knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STD-1472 MIL-STD-1474 MIL-STD-1787 MIL-STD-3009 MIL-STD-411F) to meet program requirements
Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate HE considerations into the overall system design and development
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Berkeley only
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements may be required for these positions.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology) Computer Science Data Science Mathematics Physics Chemistry Cognitive Psychology or other Human Engineering related field of study
Level 4 - Bachelors degree and 9 years experience or Masters and 7 yearsOR Level 5 - Bachelors degree and 14 years experience or Masters and 12 years
7 years of work experience in Human Engineering or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Associate Certification from Board Certification in Professional Ergonomics or equivalent education
Bachelor Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering psychology human factors or related field
Understanding of Human System Integration (HSI) in the defense acquisition process
Knowledge of military standards (such as MIL-STL-1472 MIL-STD-1474 MIL-STD-1787 MIL-STD-3009 MIL-STD 411F and JSSG-2010)
Ability to derive Human Engineering requirements
4 years of experience supporting defense programs
4 years of experience in program documentation of the HE processes and products in a format consistent with US Military Data Item Descriptions (e.g. Human Engineering Program Plan Human Engineering Design Approach Document Operator Human Engineering Design Approach Document Maintainer Human Engineering Test Plan Human Engineering Test Report et. al)
Experience in Human Modeling
Experience with the user interface software prototyping tools
Experience with Usability software
Knowledge in Human Perception and Cognition
Experience with Human Performance Modeling
Experience in workload assessments and situation awareness assessments
Experience in conducting tasks analyses
Experience in Agile Development
Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering
