Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Rail Systems Integration Delivery Lead to join the Toronto ON team. The Rail Systems Integration Delivery Lead will oversee the integration delivery and operationalization of rail systems for a major transportation program. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong background in IT infrastructure systems integration and program management coupled with expertise in stakeholder engagement governance and cross-functional team leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of delivering mission-critical rail systems projects leveraging cutting-edge technology and driving operational excellence.
This role will sit within the larger Global Mobility Business Area. We partner with our clients across the globe to design thriving and connected cities and communities that enable opportunity for all and keep the world moving. Climate change urbanization and digitization trends are requiring todays mobility projects and systems to address an evolving set of demands from the worlds growing population. We design connected sustainable solutions that integrate existing infrastructure with new technologies and optimize the mobility of people and goods.
Role accountabilities:
- Leadership and Delivery:
- Lead the end-to-end integration and delivery of rail systems ensuring alignment across IT platforms infrastructure and operational processes.
- Oversee system modernization initiatives such as Rail Traffic Control (RTC) and Network Operations Centers ensuring seamless coordination between stakeholders and vendors.
- Provide strategic direction across all workstreams translating project objectives into actionable roadmaps while maintaining alignment with organizational goals.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Governance:
- Act as the liaison between delivery partners consortium members and executive leadership to ensure project milestones are met and stakeholder expectations are aligned.
- Establish governance frameworks decision-making processes and escalation protocols to support integration and delivery.
- Drive collaboration across teams including IT procurement finance and external stakeholders.
- Operational and Technical Oversight:
- Implement and operationalize cloud-first IT platforms focusing on high-performance systems such as Azure ServiceNow and Oracle Fusion Cloud.
- Oversee testing stabilization and optimization of infrastructure solutions including SD-WAN deployments and advanced monitoring tools.
- Ensure all systems meet safety reliability and cybersecurity standards embedding security by design principles in all implementations.
- Risk Management and Problem Solving:
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address technical and operational challenges during project delivery.
- Resolve complex issues including infrastructure conflicts and vendor performance gaps while maintaining project timelines and budgets.
- Team Building and Mentorship:
- Build and structure high-performing teams fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and innovation.
- Mentor junior engineers project managers and technical staff promoting diversity and inclusion across all levels of the organization.
Core Competencies:
- Strategic planning and execution for rail systems integration and modernization.
- Expertise in IT platforms and infrastructure delivery with a focus on cloud-first solutions.
- Strong program management skills including vendor oversight risk management and operational readiness.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills including board-level alignment.
- Collaborative leadership with a focus on team building mentorship and driving results.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Telecommunications or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 15 years of experience in IT infrastructure rail systems integration and program management with a focus on large-scale transportation projects preferred.
- Certifications: PMP ITIL v4 SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) preferred.
- Proven experience deploying enterprise platforms and tools such as Azure ServiceNow Jira and Oracle Fusion Cloud preferred.
- Strong expertise in stakeholder engagement governance and cross-functional leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead mission-critical projects within complex multi-stakeholder environments.
