High School World History Teacher - Clinton Public Schools
Location: Clinton High School Clinton Oklahoma
Reports To:Michelle Sorter High School Principal
Job Summary:
Clinton Public Schools is seeking a highly motivated and qualified World History Teacher to join our high school team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engaging and rigorous instruction in World History to students in grades 9-12 fostering a deep understanding of global events cultures and their interconnectedness. The ideal candidate will be passionate about history possess strong classroom management skills and be dedicated to student success within a diverse learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum that align with Oklahoma Academic Standards for Social Studies specifically World History.
- Deliver effective instruction utilizing a variety of teaching methods resources and technologies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student learning regularly through various methods (e.g. quizzes tests projects essays) and provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Create a positive inclusive and well-managed classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues administrators and parents to support student achievement and well-being.
- Utilize data to inform instruction and differentiate learning for all students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records including grades and attendance.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives.
- Adhere to all Clinton Public Schools policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in History Social Studies Education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certification in Social Studies/History
- Demonstrated knowledge of World History content including ancient civilizations medieval history the Age of Exploration major revolutions and 20th-century global events.
- Experience teaching at the high school level preferred.
- Strong communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in educational technology and willingness to integrate it into instruction.
- Commitment to fostering critical thinking historical analysis and effective research skills in students.
