Your Role at Baxter

As a Senior Financial Analyst - Investor Relations at Baxter you have the opportunity to conveying a compelling investment story to current and prospective investors via quarterly earnings calls industry conference presentations and Baxters bi-annual Investor Conference. You also help monitoring investor sentiment of Baxter and prepare responses in advance for their possible questions.

What youll be doing

  • Provide supporting financial materials and Q&A prep to CEO CFO business unit presidents and Investor Relations team for Quarterly Earnings Analyst/Investor meetings Annual Shareholder Meeting etc.
  • Understand Baxters performance strategy and financial outlook (forward-looking projections)
  • Continuously track sell side analyst estimates and expectations regarding Baxters financial and operational performance. Update consensus (average of analyst estimates) for key financial metrics
  • Assist with the preparation of materials and presentations for sell side investor meetings and conferences and Baxters bi-annual investor conference
  • Prepare competitive analysis shareholder returns and stock performance materials for quarterly presentation to the Board of Directors
  • Benchmark competitor information and provide updates / recommendations to management
  • Assess competitor companies financial performance critical initiatives and growth directions through quarterly earnings investor meetings and public announcements of M&A transactions product launches or other news
  • Analyze hospital performance and trends to understand underlying demand dynamics financial positions that may decide hospital capital and pharmacy budgets
  • Lead strategic reviews to identify market trends and how the broader healthcare ecosystem is responding to these trends
  • Synthesize major themes from broad data collection to determine new perspectives and deliver new insights
  • Collaborate with the broader Portfolio Strategy team function in evaluating trends supporting strategic projects and defining the commercial opportunity strategic rationale and risks
  • Build analytics and communications related to external environment including peer monitoring and Baxter external coverage
  • Perform special projects with heavy financial and competitor analysis; make recommendations based on research
  • Support various critical initiatives including M&A transactions / capital allocation strategy
  • Support other analyses / ad hoc projects as required

What youll bring

  • Bachelors degree or country equivalent required; Finance Economics or Accounting degree preferred
  • 2 years of presenting analytical information to executive team members
  • 3 years of Financial Analyst Data Analyst Insights Analyst Pricing Analyst Compensation Analyst or similar experience
  • MedTech and/or healthcare products proven experience required
  • 80/20 work approach ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple ongoing projects
  • Evaluating industry trends and how competitors are addressing market trends analyzing competitive landscapes and competitor performances and delivering insights and new points of view
  • Financial savvy; strong understanding of financial documents/ledgers and application of financial theory to the corporate setting
  • Ability to solve challenges and navigate roadblocks creatively and logically
  • Comfortable/thrives in ambiguous/constantly evolving situations
  • Shown success in influencing senior leaders and decision-making in a complex and matrixed organization
  • Strong ownership mentality maintains focus on driving projects to completion and delivering output/results
  • Great teammate who strives to deliver organizational and team goals
  • Identification of key risks to achieving program goals/development of mitigation plans

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter we are committed to equitable pay for all employees and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $80000.00 to $110000.00 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location.
