Senior Automation Test Engineer

The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Test Lead to join our dynamic team in Digital Services and Analytics (DS&A) and drive our automation testing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manual and automation testing using Selenium proficient programming skills in Java and experience with cloud technologies and DevOps practices. This role requires leadership capabilities to guide a team of testers and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.

Please note: this role is subject to successful Contract Award.

This is an on-site based role with flexibility for occasional remote working at the discretion of the management team.

Primary Responsibilities

As part of your role your duties and responsibilities will include:

• Leading the design development and execution of test plans test cases and test scenarios based on project requirements and design specifications
• Developing and implementing test automation strategies and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers product managers and DevOps engineers to define testing requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Mentoring and training team members on automation testing best practices tools and methodologies.
• Integrating automated testing into CI / CD pipelines using DevOps tools and practices.
• Monitoring and reporting on testing progress defect metrics and overall quality assurance status.
• Continuously evaluating and improving testing processes tools and methodologies to align with industry best practices.
• Staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in automation testing cloud computing and DevOps.

Preferred Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
• Experience in software testing with a focus on automation testing.
• Strong expertise in Selenium and Java programming.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Azure Google Cloud).
• Proficiency in DevOps tools and practices (e.g. Jenkins Docker Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of testing frameworks and tools (e.g. TestNG JUnit).
• Excellent leadership communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Desirable Experience

• Proficiency in Test Automation tools like Selenium Webdriver SmartBear Test complete GitLab IntelliJ and TestNG Framework.
• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g. JMeter LoadRunner).
• Knowledge of API testing and tools (e.g. Postman RestAssured).
• Familiarity with Test Management tools like Microfocus ALM.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices.
