Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Alarm System Engineer to join our fire business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complete fire alarm shop drawing submissions including battery calculations NAC voltage drop calculations sequence of operations riser diagram floor plans wiring details etc.
  • Complete manufacturer data sheet packages
  • Review contract documents and specifications
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local codes and standards
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to integrate fire alarm systems with other building systems
  • Responsible for correspondence with local sub-code officials (AHJs) to clarify and/or review submissions as necessary
  • Participate in project reviews with the sales team
  • Provide guidance to installation teams and resolve technical issues
  • Assist in training new team members and provide guidance to drafters and other team members
  • Work Independently
Basic Qualifications:
  • Certificate or Diploma from an Engineering Technology School
  • 5 - 7 years of experience with using AutoCad
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in fire alarm industry
  • Knowledge of NJ & NYC Building Codes
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
  • NICET Level II in Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Manufacturer certifications: Siemens Notifier EST Fire-Lite Silent Knight etc.
  • Knowledge of High Rise Voice Evac Systems
  • Knowledge of Fire Suppression Systems
  • Knowledge of Specialty Detection Systems
