POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on major equipment and general building and grounds maintenance within the System. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives as well as Health System Incentives. Performs major repairs per department competencies.
EDUCATION/TRAINING:
At least five years experience in all facets of building maintenance in a maintenance environment preferred. In lieu of work experience formal technical training in building maintenance machine maintenance AC/DC electrical systems plumbing hydraulics pneumatics or successful completion of building maintenance Apprenticeship will be considered.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
Must have valid Illinois drivers license.
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Ability to read and following written instructions. Familiarity with Illinois applicable codes. Ability to read blueprints and schematics. Good oral communication and customer service skills. Ability to effectively and respectfully interact with staff and the public within the organization and outside vendors inspectors and contractors. Successful completion of annual job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
