Job Description
As Aurizon continues to thrive in 2025 we are currently seeking qualified Locomotive Drivers to be based at our Avon (Northam) depot in Western Australia on a full-time arrangement. This residential role will be suited to an individual who is able to display superior teamwork skills flexibility a high level of safety awareness and excellent customer service.
About the role:
- Operation of locomotives including mainline shunting and marshalling.
- Examine and certify trains as ready for departure.
- Work in accordance with Aurizons safety and operational standards and procedures.
- Maintain a high level of on-time running.
- Prepare and conduct brake testing on locomotives.
- Provide high quality customer service to enable Aurizon to meet its set business objectives.
About you:
- Strong commitment to safety and the Aurizon Safety Strategy I Know Safe I Choose Safe.
- Must be available to work 24/7 shift roster.
- Experience in WA Safe working System is advantageous.
- Extensive freight and/or heavy haulage locomotive driving experience.
- A certificate IV in Rail Operations.
- Current unrestricted Class C drivers licence.
