Job Description

The Museum of Flight is seeking an individual to assist with filming editing and delivering high-quality video content and provide event setup and support for events throughout the museum. Summary

The Audio/Visual Video Technician supports the mission of The Museum of Flight by supporting the department with planning design and implementation of video production throughout the Museum as well as provides audio-video support and setup for events as needed. This position receives mentoring from the Senior Video Tech and the Audio/Visual department at large to hone and expand their skills while taking on a share of the video production event support and audio/visual installation/maintenance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Complete post-production editing and delivery of internal/public-facing video content in collaboration with the Audio/Visual team as assigned.
  2. Assist with video shoots for productions of varying scale and requirements.
  3. Assist with event audio-video design set up and operation for events supporting internal and external clients.
  4. Meet with internal/external event clients as they arrive to ensure event needs are met.
  5. Participate in video preproduction and post-production meetings and planning with stakeholders/clients.
  6. Troubleshoot audio/visual issues that arise throughout the Museum as needed.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • An associates degree in film production or communications preferred or commensurate knowledge of the subject.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in audio/visual system operation/setup and video production including Non-Linear Editing (NLE) experience.
  • Customer service experience is highly preferred.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of the essentials of video production (exposure lighting composition) and video equipment operation.
  • A solid knowledge of analog/digital audio and video presentation systems.
  • Competent computer knowledge to operate and maintain presentation and exhibit computers.

Skills

  • Proficiency with Non-Linear Editing (NLE) software required with Adobe Premiere strongly preferred.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills for video display and audio systems.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/365 including PowerPoint and computer display experience.

Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to set up and operate audio/visual systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly professionally and work closely with a diverse group of clients staff and vendors.
  • Willingness and ability to continuously learn and improve videography live video mixing live stream video setup and video editing skills.
  • Ability to work with hand and power tools to install permanent audio/visual systems.

License & Certification

  • Able to fulfill in-house certification in the operation of facilities equipment that includes scissor lifts.

  • The schedule for this position will be determined by the Supervisor.
  • May require working additional hours including evenings and weekends based on Museum need.
  • Little to no travel is expected for this position.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • This position requires one to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time as well as work in a normal office environment including prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive wrist and arm movement.
  • The ability to focus bend carry reach to the side front and overhead push pull walk stand twist and squat grab squeeze are repetitive physical requirements of this position.
  • Ability to move through physical Museum campus spaces required including occasionally outdoors in variable weather.
  • This position works around machinery and aircraft and next to an active airport.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb ladders and stairs access tight and confined spaces work on elevated catwalks ladders and lifts.
  • Onsite attendance is essential to perform the duties of this position.

Paid-Time Off

Compensation

The pay range for this position is$25.00to$34.00depending on experience.

Should you receive an offer please expect that it can fall anywhere within this range. A multitude of factors will determine a fair salary based on the following: scope of role within the organization years of relevant experience specific skills and evaluation of capability to execute in role successfully (among other critical factors).
