Job Description

Description

Job Duties:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly quarterly and annual multistate payroll tax filings and payments in compliance with federal state and local regulations. Including W-2s and other statutory reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations across multiple authorities to ensure alignment in payroll system.
  • Reconcile payroll tax liabilities and resolve discrepancies with internal teams and external agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third-party vendors (e.g. ADP GlobalView) to ensure compliance and accuracy in payroll tax reporting.
  • Lead or support payroll tax audits (internal external SOX) and respond to tax notices from government/regulatory agencies.
  • An active contributor in the optimization of payroll systems particularly SAP and ADP GlobalView while continually monitoring and updating changes to federal state and local regulations and laws. This includes support for system testing and upgrades as related to payroll tax functionality.
  • Analyze payroll tax data and provide subject matter expertise to HR Finance and leadership on payroll tax matters. Prepare reports for leadership.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance payroll tax operations and compliance (e.g. pay statement rules).
  • Ability to work independently through problem solving and propose solutions.

You Must Have:

  • 5 years of experience in payroll tax with a strong focus on multistate payroll compliance.
  • 5 years of firsthand experience with federal state and local payroll tax regulations.
  • Specialized technical knowledge of payroll tax and compliance with functional expertise in this payroll area.

  • Prior experience working on payroll tax compliance for Mergers & Acquisitions.
  • Firsthand experience with SAP and ADP Smart Compliance payroll systems.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
