About the Role: Lancashire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Learning Disability and Autism Team

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a professional social work service in line with statutory responsibilities and organizational policies.
  • Promote independence and recovery through strengths-based and outcome-focused service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to address complex needs and achieve optimal outcomes for individuals and their carers.
  • Conduct high-quality assessments and develop support plans in consultation with service users and their carers.
  • Ensure safe and timely discharges from hospital settings supporting individual choice and independence.
  • Utilize personal budgets creatively and flexibly to meet the needs of service users and their carers.
  • Maintain accurate records using electronic systems and contribute to team initiatives and service development.
  • Support and mentor newly qualified or less experienced staff and students.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and maintain emotional resilience and professional wellbeing.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: SW CSS DipSW or Social Work Degree; current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience: Accepting referrals assessing needs managing caseloads and working in social services or similar settings.
  • Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of relevant legislation effective communication IT literacy organizational skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
  • Commitments: Equality and diversity health and safety continuous professional development and displaying organizational values.
