Responsible for the development coordination and administration of Community Regional Medical Center Surgical Services program in accordance with Community Medical Centers mission and vision. Serves as Surgical Services liaison to physicians medical groups hospital staff community and vendors. Responsible for overseeing maintenance of quality patient care in Short Stay Surgery STAR PACU Surgery Neurosurgery Anesthesia Support and Sterile Processing . Responsible for scheduling and revenue management. The primary objective of this position is to work with medical and hospital staff to coordinate the delivery of comprehensive quality Surgical Services.
Analyzes selects implements and evaluates programs necessary to support the strategic direction of Surgical Services.
Plans and directs the activities of all surgical services personnel to achieve objectives derived from CMCs strategic plan for quality patient care performance improvement cost effectiveness and optimum utilization of all available resources. Provides tools and developmental opportunities for staff that are necessary for performance consistent with CMCs mission and vision.
Establishes policies procedures and practices necessary for the effective and efficient human resources business and regulatory operations of surgical services. Ensures these policies procedures and practices are in accordance with appropriate laws and regulations (Title 22 Joint Commission).
Develops implements and maintains the annual operating budget ensuring that the operations are managed within the established guidelines.
Manages and enhances medical staff relations. Markets surgical services and meets with physicians to ensure preferences needs and schedules are met.
Acts as a resource to staff and a liaison to patients and their families as well as other unit personnel and the medical staff. Provides assistance to the staff in resolving questions/problems involving patient treatment plans interpersonal conflicts medical staff relations and ancillary care providers.
Represents the department through involvement on interdepartmental and interdisciplinary committees or task forces to effect change and problem solving within the organization.
Responsible for developing and administering the capital budget for the surgical areas.
Directly responsible (with support from Human Resources) for employee engagement and people management processes including interviewing and selection time and attendance approval providing timely feedback and performance evaluations employee development employee retention disciplinary actions and terminations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
