King County Library System (KCLS) is seeking a motivated and skilled Library Technical Assistant (LTA)to provide service to the Riverview regionof King County libraries. This position serves theMercer Island and IssaquahLibraries.
TheLibrary Technical Assistant (LTA)position performs operation and circulation duties as assigned and serves as a first point of referral for material handling issues. It also provides basic assistance to patrons with checking and locating requested materials programs and services in person or over the phone. This position also assists patrons with library accounts and technology responds to and resolves building technology and patron issues whenever necessary following system procedures requesting assistance as needed. Library Technical Assistants also assist with troubleshooting the Automated Material Handling (AMH) system as well as uphold and practice the principles of intellectual freedom.
The successful candidate for this position will evaluate and address multiple priorities adapting to changing needs with a high standard of customer service in a dynamic service environment. The ideal candidate will also possess direct customer service experience and be comfortable and confident working directly with diverse communities.
