Position Summary
Join a small but dedicated kitchen team at The Overlake School to help prepare and serve nutritious meals to students staff and faculty. This full-time 10-month role supports both dishwashing and food preparation duties in a collaborative respectful and fast-paced environment.
Schedule
MondayFriday 6:00 AM 2:30 PM (weekends occasionally)
Employment Type: Full-Time Hourly
Start Date: Fall 2025 (aligned with the 202526 academic year)
Important Note: Due to the academic calendar this position includes extended unpaid breaks (approx. 8 weeks in summer and other school breaks). Financial planning is necessary to account for unpaid breaks.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash dishes utensils and kitchen equipment in compliance with health and safety standards
- Assist with food prep for breakfast and lunch service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas
- Support team members with daily kitchen operations
- Follow all kitchen protocols and safety procedures
- Occasionally assist with weekend events as needed
Compensation & Benefits
- $18.50 20.50/hr.
- Paid holidays during the school year.
- 10 days accrued paid time off.

Qualifications
- Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Willingness to learn and contribute to a positive kitchen culture
- Respectful and professional demeanor with colleagues and guests
- Prior kitchen experience is a plus but not required
- Must adhere to a tobacco-free policy on campus
