Job Description

BANK Retail Shop Assistant

We are on the lookout for enthusiastic and customer-focusedindividuals to join our retail team on a casual basis over the summer months tocover holidays and other absences.

The role will be based at our shop in Heckmondwike but there may be the opportunity to pick up hours in other locations.

Pay will be at national minimum wage (variable dependent on age) and will be a zero hour contract.



Role Summary


Our vision is to deliver pioneering care through pregnancy childhood and loss wherever families need us whatever the future holds. This role supports our vision by providing support to the shop manager and assistant manager in effectively sorting displaying and selling items.

Be the Forget Me Not Childrens Hospices ambassador in the local community delivering our organisations key messages and promoting all aspects of the charity within the local area.


Main Duties and Key Responsibilities


Help achieve sales and KPI targets.
Sort steam and price donated stock.
Help to maintain high standards of merchandising.
Deliver excellent customer service. .
Work on the till.
Ensure the shop is kept clean and tidy.
Assist with booking in deliveries and collections.
Assist shop with promoting and processing gift aid.
Be a key holder opening and closing when required.
Assist in motivating volunteer team.
Complete mandatory training when requested.
Any other adhoc duties.



We expect all staff to undertake any other duties within the scope spirit and purpose of the job the title of the post and its grading as requested by your line manager or their higher level of authority on behalf of the charity.

This role will involve evening and weekend work so flexibility is essential.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for asubmission for disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
