Job Summary

The Senior Field Service Technician is responsible for initiating and executing field service activities at customer sites in a safe efficient and professional manner. This role involves proactive system troubleshooting working with mechanical electrical and diesel-powered equipment conducting preventative maintenance managing parts inventory and identifying and correcting safety issues on both company and customer-owned equipment. This position requires direct customer interaction and may include assignments at multiple locations and across different systems or technologies.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 2 to 5 years of technical experience in field service preferably in industrial or commercial process water systems

  • Ability to obtain customer-specific clearances (e.g. TWIC DISA)

  • Ability to obtain a DOT medical card

  • Experience with mechanical electrical diesel or fusion systems (varies by business unit)

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and mobile smart devices

  • Prior customer-facing experience strongly preferred

  • Must demonstrate strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills

Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel required- Up to 10%

Compensation

The estimated salary range for this position is $22 to $28. Starting pay is based on a variety of factors including skills experience and work location. At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package supported by a comprehensive benefits program as described above.
