Job Description

Math and Chemistry Teacher Grades 9 -12Bishop Fenwick High School seeks a full-time talented passionate innovative and inspiring Math and Chemistry teacher to start in August 2025. Bishop Fenwick is a Catholic co-educational college prep school providing education for life. The Fenwick experience empowers students to seek and achieve excellence intellectually creatively physically morally and spiritually recognizing their responsibility to serve and to lead. Located in Peabody MA and operating independently in the Archdiocese of Boston Bishop Fenwick is a close-knit student-centered and character driven community that focuses on the whole person and forms life-long Applicants will meet the following criteria:Degree in Math Chemistry or similar field required; Masters degree (preferred)Minimum of 2 years teaching experience (preferred)Ability to teach a range of Math classes (Algebra 1 Algebra 2 Functions/Stats)Work collaboratively within the Math and Science Departments and with other departmentsEmploy various instructional strategies that are academically rigorous and highly engaging Teaching Responsibilities include:3 sections of Math 2 sections of Chemistry with usually 3 preps at mostDesign lesson planning that is thoughtful and intentional; create a classroom experience that is engaging challenging encourages student voice and promotes active learningCommunicate effectively positively and consistently with students and families to provide feedback on student progress throughout the yearCreate develop amend and assess curricula content assessments and teaching methods as necessary to foster a student-centered learning environmentDemonstrate strong interpersonal communication skills the ability to work collegially and collaboratively and a willingness to go the proverbial extra mile for studentsHave a strong knowledge of differentiated instructional strategies with a focus on emphasizing student strengths and developing essential skillsAdditional Responsibilities include:Attending and contributing to meetings during and after the school day including but not limited to department committee and grade-level meetingsParticipating in the life of Fenwick by attending community events being present for major school functions and supporting the overall mission and culture of the SchoolThe successful candidate will possess excellent content knowledge; a passion for teaching and learning; enthusiasm for working with students families and colleagues; a positive attitude; and a growth mindset.
