Job Description

Job Description:

The University of Florida (UF) Department of Epidemiology seeks a diligent detail-oriented individual to serve as an Interviewer supporting two major research initiatives: the Adolescent Brain and Cognitive Development - Social Development (ABCD-SD) study and the Polysubstance Use-2 study (PSU-2). The Interviewer will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution of study protocols and participant engagement.

  • Coordinate and schedule study interviews with participants.
  • Manage study-related administrative tasks including handling emails phone calls and physical mail.
  • Conduct in-person study visits and administer multiple assessments according to established protocols.
  • Collect biospecimens (e.g. saliva urine) during study visits.
  • Process research participant payments by distributing payment cards and ensuring accurate reconciliation of electronic payment records.
  • Administer Informed Consent and conduct study interviews with eligible individuals. Support the safety of participants by monitoring for emergency referrals. Ensure completion of all study forms and protocols. Review and edit interviews to ensure compliance with study procedures and integrity of data.
  • Interact with interviewers and other staff on both projects including attending weekly team meetings.
  • Manage requests for funds for participant remuneration through the Research Participant Payments system and log all payments made for the PSU-2 study only.
  • Provide administrative support as needed to project coordinators and principal investigators.
Expected Salary:

$22.00 per hour

Required Qualifications:

Associates degree or an allied health professional degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently coupled with the knowledge of when to seek advice.
  • Honest trustworthy able to think strategically as demonstrated in interview.
  • Able to manage day-to-day activities while juggling other responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
