Duties and Responsibilities

*Denotes Essential Functions

  • *Work closely with system vendor to ensure timely maintenance is applied to the application user acceptance testing is coordinated and implementation is scheduled and communicated to key stakeholders
  • *Provide support for solutions in meeting the needs of Manoas Parking Office and other related administration goals and objectives.
  • *Ensure system meets business requirements and adheres to industry best practices.
  • *Research analyze and evaluate requests for services from key stakeholders to meet customer needs.
  • *Identify and evaluate integration considerations and impact with other systems at the University and recommend best approach based on best practices.
  • *Analyze and document requirements to produce standard and adhoc reports based on business criteria leveraging the systems Business Intelligence tool and other related tools where applicable.
  • *Address requests for data extracts and coordinate secure transmission of data as needed to facilitate UH system data reporting needs while ensuring adherence to internal data security policies (eg PII and PCI data) and data governance requirements.
  • *Assist users with dashboards and custom queries to retrieve information in the form of reports and allow export capabilities to Excel and other applications.
  • *Work with vendor to evaluate and establish procedures in accordance with best practices and current technology for data security backup and recovery of files.
  • Actively participate in professional development to keep abreast of the constant changes in technology & complexities of the field
  • Collaborate with colleagues throughout the UH system on strategies emerging technologies best practices and ideas to continually improve services and promote use of technology.
  • *Work outside of normally scheduled hours which may include day night weekend and/or on holidays as directed.

Minimum Qualifications:


  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for system administration security and system integration in a large organization of which 2 years of the experience must have been comparable in scope and complexity to the next lower pay-band in the University of Hawaii broadband system; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education knowledge skills and abilities as indicated.
  2. Considerable working knowledge of principles practices and techniques in the area of system administration from an application perspective configuration security and system integration as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts principles and methodologies.
  3. Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws rules regulations and theories and systems associated with applications interfaces and databases.
  4. Demonstrated ability to resolve wide ranging complex problems through the use of creative reasoning and logic to accurately determine the cause of the problems and the resolution of the problems in an effective innovative and timely manner.
  5. Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials.
  6. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations groups team leaders and members and individuals.
  7. If applicable for supervisory work demonstrated ability to lead subordinates manage work priorities and projects and manage employee relations.
  8. Experience in the implementation of 3rd party applications integration considerations with other applications applying upgrades patches and fixes post-implementation support and coordinating user acceptance testing.
  9. Experience with identifying integration options with other systems data conversion and data validation exercises.
  10. Experience with report writing tools and/or generating queries for reporting and data extracts.
  11. Ability to meet deadlines and work outside normally scheduled work hours as needed to include day night weekend and/or holiday hours as directed.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Experience working in a Higher Ed environment
  2. Familiarity with managing a Parking System (eg T2) in a large organization
  3. Demonstrated project management skills
