Job Summary
Ready to electrify your career As a Resource Planning Consultant II youll tackle dynamic challenges in energy modeling integrated resource planning and MISO energy markets. This role offers a unique chance to influence critical energy strategies leveraging your skills to balance reliability affordability and sustainability. What you will do
Responsible for working on capacity and long term resource forecasts and models.
Works on routine activities to maintain and learn deterministic and stochastic model inputs and outputs operates the model and creates reports from model outputs.
Defines and follows standard practices and procedures in support of capacity and resource planning.
Gathers and aggregates information from subject matter experts to ensure valid input assumptions.
Assists in troubleshooting processes exploring process improvements documenting processes and implementing process improvements.
Develops an understanding of appropriate procedures policy tools systems and regulations related to the EGEAS model MISO energy and capacity market rules.
Serves as the companys representative at various MISO committees and performs various MISO Resource Adequacy functions.
Gains a basic understanding of the business of a regulated electric utility including details of our fuel recovery rules in each of Alliant Energys jurisdictions.
Performs both internal and external training to the EMO and Trading & Risk Management groups.
Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energys Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities.
Education Requirements
Bachelors Degree Business Engineering or related field. Preferred
Required Experience
3 years of technical or professional experience.
Preferred Experience
Specific electric utility experience including some experience in real time power plant or transmission operations.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Ability to demonstrate understanding basics of the electric system.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g. e-mail word processing spreadsheet and project management). Advanced working knowledge of Excel and related analytical tools preferred.
Ability to setup maintain and draw conclusions from large data sets.
Knowledge of analytical methods and analysis preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.

Pay Range:
$70500-$91500This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position experience skill set internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
