Job Duties
The Department of Human Resource Management (DHRM) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Risk Management Specialist within its Office of Workers Compensation. This position will assist in conducting an annual review and analysis of each state agencys loss control history including the severity of workers compensation claims claim trends experience modification factor and frequency normalized by payroll; support the direction of the team of loss control specialists in a program designed to assist each identified agency to reduce their work-related accidents and associated workers compensation costs through the implementation and maintenance of effective safety and health program management systems. Furthermore work in concert with the ARR other contract providers and the OWC loss control educational programs to include development and presentation when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of occupational safety and health VOSH unique standards OSHA safety and health standards program development and evaluation and contract management. Considerable experience in analyzing loss data and in developing and conducting both online and in-person training. Demonstrated ability to work independently communicate effectively with upper management both orally and in writing work with officials at all levels of state government and analyze injury and illness data in order to make program modifications. Skilled in developing and conducting training programs analyzing evaluating and assessing data report writing and planning and implementing goals and objectives. High school graduate or equivalent.
Additional Considerations
Experience in occupational safety/health risk management or a related field. Knowledge of OSHA 1926 Construction Industry standards.
