Background
The Food Distribution Assistant is a part of the ICS Food Distribution Team and provides leadership to the Mobile Produce Giveaways and assistance to other ICS Food Bank programs including the Northwest Food Bank.
Under the general direction of the Food Distribution Manager this position is responsible for operations and volunteers related to ICSs Mobile Produce Giveaways and assists other aspects of ICS Food Distribution including driving the Mobile Food Bank as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Mobile Produce Giveaway Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate and supervise Food Distribution at multiple ICS Mobile Produce Giveaway locations.
Assist in new Mobile Produce Giveaway locations.
Submit weekly reports to Food Bank Manager.
Request and train new volunteers.
Help schedule volunteers as needed for Mobile Produce Giveaways.
Food Distribution Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in deliveries and opening/closing procedures of ICS Food Bank and Mobile Food Bank.
Assist with grocery store pickups.
Help schedule volunteers as needed on Food Distribution and Mobile Food Bank shifts.
Coordinate client eligibility and intake process. This includes operating the client check-in computer when needed.
Driving the Mobile Food Bank to regular scheduled distributions and special events as needed when applicable.
Additional Duties:
Attend monthly staff meetings.
Attend ICS Board and Council meetings when requested.
Participate in additional training when requested.
Participate in ICS volunteer recruitment and recognition fund raising newsletter article writing and other agency projects as needed.
Reports to: SR Manager - Food Distribution
Supervises: Food Distribution Volunteers
Work Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week) Tuesday through Saturday.
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Location: 2820 W Ina Rd. Tucson AZ 85741
Compensation: Depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits provided include group health insurance Simple IRA generous Paid Time Off and paid holidays.
Qualifications:
Good working knowledge of a wide range of community organizations with food banks/pantries.
Excellent organizational skills
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Excellent oral and written skills; proficient with Microsoft Office software.
Must have a valid Arizona drivers license and current automobile insurance.
Bilingual Spanish and English preferred.
Must pass a background check.
Previous work with volunteers preferred.
